Your Month-by-Month Wedding Hair Plan
Whether your wedding is 12 months away or 6, this timeline ensures you cover every hair-related detail. Our bridal stylists at GA Salons have prepared hundreds of brides — here's the schedule we recommend.
12 Months Before: Research & Book
Start researching bridal hair styles and save inspiration photos. Book your bridal stylist — top stylists get booked early, especially for peak wedding season (May–September). If you're switching to natural colour, this is the ideal time to start the transition.
6 Months Before: Hair Health Focus
Begin a hair conditioning regimen. Book regular trims every 6–8 weeks. If you want to grow your hair, focus on scalp health and deep treatments. Consider a Cezanne anti-frizz treatment 4–6 months before the wedding for manageable, smooth hair.
3 Months Before: Trial Appointment
Book your bridal hair trial. Bring your veil, headpiece, inspiration photos and a photo of your dress neckline. Try 2–3 styles and photograph each from multiple angles. This is also the time to finalise your colour — no major colour changes after this point.
1 Month to Wedding Day
Final colour appointment 2–3 weeks before. Last trim 2 weeks before. Avoid any new products or treatments in the final week. The morning of: arrive with clean, second-day hair (washed the evening before). Allow 60–90 minutes for bridal styling.
