Paris Fashion Week Hair Trends!

It is an event anticipated highly by Fashion and Make-up aficionados worldwide and of course a week we eagerly await here at GA Salons. It always includes some of the most charming makeup and hair looks of the year. Like most of our fans and customers, we are inspired by the many beauty looks we see grace the French runways and have also often participated in London Fashion week ourselves.

This year event was eventful and full of inspired and unique new fashion designs but more importantly (for us) some gorgeous hair styles.  Paris Fashion Week proves to be one of the most fun times to take a look at the backstage beauty process. Each season Paris Fashion Week, offers some exciting new ideas and authentic new styles we love to try out here at our Salons in Wimbledon, Chelsea, Notting Hill and London Bridge.

The events at Paris Fashion Week are usually broken into 3 section: Menswear, Haute Couture and Ready-to-wear, of which the word “Haute-Couture” is protected by intellectual property copyright. Indeed, to be eligible, the houses need to fulfil the stringent criteria set in place by the Chamber of the Haute Couture.

Amongst making sure we make our customers looking stunning when leaving our salons and watching the Paris Fashion Weekwe thought we just had to write a blog about last weeks’ glamorous fashion happening of the year so far. Here are the very best Hair looks of the Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020 shows.

  • Chanel

Sam McKnight of Chanel described his amorous hairstyle as ‘A Parisian misty morning romance,’ at the Virginie Viard Chanel Autumn Winter show. ‘Inspired by that French girl in the Seventies; soft, loose, flowing volume. With modern wispy waves in homage to the gothic Victoriana of that era,’ explained McKnight.

  • Miu Miu

Guido Palau, the famous stylist and Global Creative Director of Redken, was the creative director behind the Bette Davis in The Little Foxes meets a 1970s Jerry Hall hair look at Miu Miu: ‘I like to think of it as how a girl might do her hair in a Forties style during the Seventies. It’s a glam, tough girl who is very Miu Miu, and who is always a bit rebellious,’ said Palau.

  • Saint Laurent

Another beautiful look that made an impression on the catwalk and hair stylists globally was Saint Laurent’s s. There were the “strict, super-graphic” one-length ponytails crafted by Duffy at Saint Laurent and under that some beautifully crafted bows and bowbands designed to create contrast by yanking knots back and saturating them in gel to androgynous effect.

The Paris Fashion Week is organised, managed and co-ordinated by the French Fashion Federation. At the earliest stages, the Federation liaises with the other capitals, such as Milan, London and New York, and the other shows in order to guarantee international coherence and to remain a true development lever to serve brands. The Federation provides logistical support to member and guest brands by negotiating showrooms, SACEM fees early on, and can, depending on the brand’s profile, offer financial support for shows (DEFI).
