How to get stronger, fuller looking hair

We all want to have healthier thicker and stronger hair but sometimes that pursuit can be frustrating to achieve. Most of us are willing to try and buy anything to help us achieve long, thick healthy hair. Fortunately, we have some key tips on what you need to know about growing thick and strong hair.

Sulphate free shampoo

Most shampoos available contain harsh cleansing agents that strip away the natural moisture in your hair. The two most common ingredients to avoid in your next purchase are sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate. Prolonged use can make your hair dry and cause irritation to the scalp. Luckily, there are now more sulfate-free shampoos available for you to choose from that use more natural ingredients.

Sleep on a silk pillowcase

When you sleep on cotton pillowcases, they naturally absorb moisture from your hair as you sleep. They are also abrasive, so if you frequently toss and turn in your sleep, your hair strands will rub, causing friction and lead to dry split hair strands. Silk pillowcases are one of the best alternatives. They feel great to lay on and look fabulous. Overall it will help to contribute to keeping your hair stands in top condition.

Cut out chemicals

It may not be a surprise that harsh chemicals and dying products don’t do your hair any favours. In fact, constant exposure can cause the texture of your strands to break down, leaves your cuticles to open and swell leading to damage hair. We strongly advise to stay away from using any harsh chemicals or dyes yourself and seek a professional hairstylist if you are looking to get a chemical services.

Brush before bed

While it may be tempting to ‘hit the hay’ without paying any special attention to your hair, this step can be crucial in improving both health of hair and scalp. Regularly brushing your hair just before bed helps to distribute your scalps natural oils from roots to tips. Just a couple of strokes before going to bed will benefit your hair greatly.

Less direct heat

If you really want healthier hair, start reducing your hot tool usage down to a minimum. Constant hot direct heat can leave your stands heat damaged. Try air drying your hair at least once or twice a week to give your hair a much-needed break.
